The Bolt Food app has a significant growth opportunity when it comes to enhancing communication features between couriers and clients. This improvement would streamline coordination and help locate the correct meeting spot.
Personally, I've encountered several situations where couriers needed to call me to clarify details about how and where to meet for delivering the order.
I've evaluated many leading rivals in the industry to determine the optimal choices for communication interfaces.
From my research, I've found that the most useful functions are quick messages and live location. Quick messages allow users to communicate directly and clearly, answering common questions like "where are you?"
Live location is the most advanced feature that helps you find the courier when you're both nearby but can't see each other yet.
"I'm on my way"
I've included a notification with a button that says "I'm on my way." When you tap this button, it sends a message to the courier, letting them know you're coming. This means they don't need to call you.
Quick messages
I've added chips with quick messages such as "Where are you?", "I'm here" and a "hand wave" icon 👋.
I've also included quick action buttons "location" and "call".
Live location
The client can share their live location, limited for 3 minutes. This should be plenty of time to find the courier if both are at the meeting point but can't see each other yet.
I really love the Bolt Food app! It's one of my most-used apps on my iPhone. But I've noticed a few things that could be better, so I've been thinking about ways to make the app even more awesome and improve the experience for everyone.
